Besides having a great movie career with films such as “The Ides of March,” “The Notebook,” “Crazy, Stupid Love” geek heartthrob Ryan Gosling is also hoping to have success when he directs his first movie How To Catch A Monster. Gosling will write and direct How to Catch A Monster, which is being described as a “modern-day fairytale blending fantasy noir and suspense . The film will star Christina Hendricks in the lead role, Gosling and Hendricks spent a few on-screen minutes together during last year’s bloody heist film Drive. How to Catch a Monster is set to begin shooting in the spring of 2013 and the casting directors are now looking for male and female actors for several stand in roles along with extras in numerous scenes.
Written and directed by Ryan Gosling, How to Catch a Monster mixes elements of fantasy noir, and suspense into a modern day fairytale. Set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city, Billy, a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery, if their family is to survive. The movie marks Gosling’s first time writing and directing a feature film. Gosling is an Oscar nominated actor and we are sure that the movie is in great hand.
