The male-skewing cable network FX has ordered a 13-episode run of a new series from Australian stand-up comedian Jim Jefferies named Legit. Legit will revolve around a comedian named Jim (played by Jefferies) and his efforts to achieve legitimacy in life. Dan Bakkedahl and D.J. Qualls (“Road Trip”) also star, as Jim’s best friend Steve and Steve’s brother Billy, respectively. FX has set the bar so high with shows like Louie and Sunny we are sure that Legit is going to deliver laughs. The casting directors are now looking for male actors for several extra roles in the new series. This is a great opportunity for anyone that is looking to break into the acting industry.
Legit is set in and around a fictitious black market, where main characters Sammy Fox and Danny work selling illegal DVDs and pirated computer software. Fox has recently split up with his girlfriend Kelly-Ann and is trying to win her and her children back off her new boyfriend John McCann. Danny is living with his mother and Fox is currently living in their backyard in a caravan until he ‘wins her back’. “I couldn’t be happier than getting to do this show, Jefferies said, the cast is amazing and FX has given us all the freedom we need. I can’t wait for people to see it.” The casting directors are now looking for union and non union male actors for several roles in the series.
