This past may TNT has announced the return on Southland for its fifth season. Season after season, critics and fans alike have crowned TNT’s Southland as one of television’s best dramas. This year, the show has not only solidified its impassioned fan base, but also picked up some new young fans along the way. Southland has found a way to get under our skins with scenes that were full of emotion, the show averaged more than 2.9 million viewers and TNT hopes that the return of season five will do the same. Southland is created by Ann Biderman ( NYPD blue) and produced by Warner Bros. TV. The casting directors are on a search for extras and day roles for its fifth season that is set to return in February 2013.
Southland takes a “raw and authentic look” at the lives of the LAPD officers who police it. The show’s first season centers on the experiences and interactions of LAPD patrol officers and detectives and it focuses more on the drama aspect than the actual police work involved. Among the characters are rookie Officer Ben Sherman and his training officer, John Cooper; Detective Lydia Adams, who must balance work with responsibility for her mother; Officer Chickie Brown, who aspires to be the first woman on SWAT; and Detective Sammy Bryant, whose home life interferes with his working life.
Shot on location in the streets and neighborhoods of Los Angeles, Southland captures a realistic, natural environment where similar situations can and often do occur in real life. This is a great ipportunity to appear as an extra in this hit TNT drama series. If you would like to audition for the show please submitt a photo along with a resume.
