Super Bowl Casting Call for Anheuser Busch

Deflation, Deserts, and a Promotional Modeling Opportunity.

For those of us who are football fans this is the longest and most tedious two weeks of the year; the two weeks before the Super Bowl.  Two weeks of non-stop media coverage and speculation on one of the largest sporting events in the United States, if not the world.  Two weeks of hype before kick-off in Glendale for Super Bowl XLIX (49).  That’s right, another week and a half of ESPN beating any story they get their hands on to death.  Don’t believe me?  See the whole ‘Deflategate’ ordeal.  I tuned in to Sports Center this morning and saw a NASCAR analyst weighting in on the topic.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s cheating and it certainly sounds as if they are going to get caught.  But when is enough, enough?

Perhaps I grow so tired of this conversation because my team, like many other fans, is not in.  I will be so much happier when the conversation about the Patriots’ game balls is over.  The Patriots have a long and well documented history of playing in the “grey area” of the rules.  You would be naive to think that someone with the intelligence of Bill Belichick wouldn’t use any opportunity to gain an advantage.  As it would turn out they got caught.  I’m more interested in the punishment that the NFL will hand down to the New England organization.

At any rate we look forward to Super Bowl weekend every year.  A time to gather with friends and family, one last time to gather around the television to gorge on bean dip and buffalo wings.  One last giant spectacle taking place in the Arizona desert before we put a bow on the football season.  And good luck to those of you that have a vested interest.
