Earlier this summer FOX announced the return of its global hit drama Touch for its second season. Starring Emmy and Golden Globe winner Kiefer Sutherland, Touch was created by Tim Kring who previously created Heroes. Touch premiered in January to somewhat mixed reviews, but still managed to score 12 million viewers.Last season’s unprecedented global launch of TOUCH in more than 100 countries was a tremendous success. Internationally, the series ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in its time period and increased foreign channels’ primetime average by double or triple digit percentage points. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a hit TV series and the casting directors are on a search for extras and stand ins.
Touch revolves around a mute boy, Jake, has a superpower of sorts: He has a relentless fascination with numbers and finds patterns that, if deciphered properly by his father, lead to connections among disparate people all over the globe. MARTIN BOHM (Sutherland), a single father, who has trouble communicating and connecting with his emotionally challenged 12-year-old son, JAKE (David Mazouz). Determined, thoughtful and caring, Martin continues to try anything to reach his son. But Jake still never speaks, shows little emotion and never allows himself to be touched by anyone. Touch blends science, spirituality and emotion into a one hour TV series and Touch has the chance to do what many shows that use characters with disabilities don’t: go beyond the superficial and avoid easy, feel-good solutions.
