From the creator of Numbers Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton comes a new drama pilot on the USA Network. The pilot is based on a short story from Elmore Leonard’s book When the Women Come Out To Dance, the book that also features the short story Fire In The Holethat FX’s series Justified is based on. The drama pilot was originaly set up for NBC but we have learned the USA Network will be taking over the rights for the popular show. The new pilots name is not official but we have also learned that it will be called The untitled Falacci/Heuton and will join USA recently greenlit comedy pilots Paging Dr. Freed and Sirens. The casting directors at USA are now taking applications for several supporting roles to join Amanda Schull who many remember from Pretty Little Liars and One Tree Hill. The USA Network project is based on a short story from Elmore Leonard‘s anthology When The Women Come Out To Dance, centers on a Miami businessman who, contemplating a run for political office, tries to increase his chances of being elected by marrying a Colombian woman. What starts as a marriage of convenience quickly escalates into much more as his new wife proves to be more resourceful at “fixing” any problem the corrupt South Miami political scene throws at her hubby.
Amanda Schull will play Melody Pruitt-Morales, the beautiful daughter of a wealthy former U.S. senator who also used to date Greenberg’s character. The casting directors are now taking applicaions for numerous stand in roles and supporting characters.
